My class is full of enthusiastic third graders who come to school ready to learn, discover and explore! They absolutely love hands-on, active and engaging activities that challenge them to think outside the box of our normal math curriculum and solve problems together! Any chance they get to interact with another student and practice our math skills in a way that gets them out of their seat and showing their understanding in a different way, they love! This group of students is truly an incredible group and I am so thankful to be their teacher!
Our Math Workshop is something that my students get excited about everyday. During this time, I work with a small group of students on math skills to review or challenge them and while I am in my small group, the rest of my class is doing independent activities. One of these activities is a hands-on math games station where they play games that focus on the math standards that we are currently learning. Allowing them to practice more independence with this activity will help them become more independent learners as well as practicing responsibility for these games.
These containers will help to organize our math games, giving my students the ability to choose what standards-based game they would like to complete.
Having these storage containers in our classroom will make it easier for my students to know what fun and interactive math games they can play during our Math Workshop.
