This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching environmental science is so exciting, and it truly will make a lasting impact on all of my students and how they view and interact with the world around them. This project includes some arts and crafts supplies, so as my students are learning major concepts, they can create posters and construct food webs while they learn about how organisms interact with their environment. The hands on equipment will allow us to set up a tank to show students how we can responsibly grow plants while incorporating fish to fertilize the plants naturally. This system will be an awesome visual display on how this can work. The macroinvertebrate cards and lenses will allow my students to be able to identify macro invertebrates in the field and determine the health of the ecosystem from these live animals.

I truly hope that you can help me fund this project, so my students can learn in the field, create in the classroom, and make a difference in the world around them.

The coursework for my environmental classes is largely on the computer because students are working toward an industry certification in this field. This is the first time my students have been able to earn this and allows students a career path into making the world a better place.
