Hello! I am a behavior interventionist in St. Augustine, Florida.
These items are for use on our school campus for students who may need sensory items for the day on campus or a temporary change of environment to a separate area designated for calming down (located in the room that the guidance counselors and I share).
The noise-cancelling headphones, for example, help students who struggle in noisy environments to avoid overstimulation during louder portions of their day.
There are also items that will be used to set up a regulation station for students who are dysregulated and need a short-term change of environment in order to re-regulate and get back on track and back to learning! This area will be in the room the guidance counselors and I share.
The chew necklaces are for use by students who are "nervous chewers" and could use an appropriate item to chew on.
All of these items except the chew necklaces will remain on our school campus. The headphones will remain on campus and be sanitized between student use.
