My students need an area to inspire creativity and openness. I am requesting alternative seating and rugs like bean bag chairs and floor cushions to provide comfortable areas for students to collaborate.
I am so lucky to be able to teach kids who are creative, quirky and inventive. As a gifted education teacher, I see children everyday who think and learn differently. We work together to develop our creative and critical thinking skills and learn how to use our academic and artistic potentials to their fullest.
On any given day, my classroom offers a space for kids to talk and learn about subjects, people, and ideas that don't normally get discussed in most classrooms.
Gifted kids, like all kids, need places where they can be who they really are and fully explore their many passions. It is such a privilege to be able to join them on their explorations!
My Project
Students spend most of their days at desks and tables. In order to optimize learning, however, we need to have alternative seating for students who may work better with different resources. I want to provide a space for them to sit on the floor to work, read, and rejuvenate. The chairs and cushions will be used by students when they need a break from traditional seating.
Comfortable seating allows students to focus on what is most important in classrooms-learning!
