My Students

My students are from a diverse community in Axis, Alabama. My school has students of various ethnic backgrounds.

As a lower income school teacher, I want to make my classroom as inviting and engaging as possible.

I want my classroom to be my students' home away from home.

I am striving to make my students even more comfortable through more flexible seating options in my classroom. We currently only have a few options to choose from. My students love flexible seating and I know they will love the new options I'm asking for.

My Project

I am asking for more flexible seating for my students. The writing desks will be so much fun for the students to use for centers. Instead of doing seat work at their seats, they will have the option to complete work at the lap desk. They can also use it for laptops. The cushions will make it easier for the students to sit on the floor and complete centers. The floor can often hurt to sit on.

Students need the opportunity to feel comfortable and engaged in the classroom.
