My Students

I have a beautiful, multi-cultural class of eighteen first graders. However, many students are struggling due to being full distance learners in kindergarten last year. There was inconsistent teaching/learning. There are lots of holes in their academic progress from the impact of Covid.

My students are curious sponges and so eager to learn!

As children of the twenty-first century, technology could really help them fill in the gaps and holes from Covid. Educational games help them learn phonics and phonemic awareness in a fun, engaging way. Technology rocks!

My Project

The items I have selected will help my first graders improve in their reading. Reading iPads in class gets them very excited to read! I will also be able to print books from Reading A-Z in color so that they can take the books home and practice at home. I will need good staplers to staple these booklets together. Students will be able to choose books that interest them. Many of my students were on distance learning full-time last year and are very behind in reading. I believe this will really help them.
