My Project

My students are a special group of middle school students because they are newcomers to the country. Many of them fled their countries due to poverty and violence. In my classroom, students are learning how to speak, read, write, and understand English. More importantly, they are learning how to adjust to a new culture and customs. Before any true learning can happen, students need to feel comfortable in their new environment. Many of them are still getting on their feet as their families try to find jobs and stable homes. I work hard to make my classroom a place where students can take a deep breath and let their guards down. In order to create a more comfortable environment, I would love to add new furniture in my classroom. Please help us to reach our goal!
