I am so blessed to be able to teach, what I believe with my whole heart, the best students in the nation.
Teaching in the middle school environment comes with its own set of challenges, but the students make it all worth it.
With many students not favoring the math classroom, I try to find new ways every year to make my math classroom more exciting and engaging for the students to flourish. The students are always up for the challenge I set before them, are not afraid of work, and push me to be a better teacher every day!
My Project
Flexible seating is a way to help students take charge of their learning environment. Everyone learns in a different way, this will help the students take charge and choose what environment will be the most beneficial to them. I have noticed during independent work time the students are much more engaged in the work when they are given the freedom to choose where they work. Currently, in my classroom, I do not have any options for them to do so.
Although my students just sit on the floor currently, I have noticed an incredible change in their work ethic and the increase of quality of their work is proof that flexible seating is necessary for a successful classroom!
I want to make it so that they have the best work environment to suit their desires! Math is not always a fun subject, so I believe if we can make the environment more pleasing to them, that will give them a more positive experience!
