My Project

There is so much more to books than just knowing how to read the words. Books are an engaging way to target several speech-language goals.

SLP’s play a critical and direct role in literacy development, due to established connections between spoken and written language.

Expanding children's vocabulary is so important and as we know books are filled with vocabulary words. Story recall, sequencing, auditory comprehension, "wh" questions, inferencing, compare/contrast, main details and the list goes on and on. I would love to have a library of seasonal books and evidence-based book companions off of Teachers Pay Teachers to go along with them.

Also on my list are small toys and blocks, these play items are companions for TpT resources. Blocks and LEGO provide language expansion and improve engagement. We are also needing storage and more options for flexible seating and wiggle cushions next year.
