My Project

I teach math and my room is normally set up in a typical fashion. Rows of desks all facing the board, with occasional groupings. I really want to set up a comfortable space in my room for students to take a brain break, read a book, or enjoy some down time. Especially in math, students need a few minutes to breath and let the lesson sink in. Snacks are great motivators for many reasons, but honestly the students we serve need the food and even snacks are a way to get them to show up. I focus on trying to get students to lose their fear of math. I try to build confidence and get students to a point where they do not stress walking into the room.
