Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi there! I'm using these materials to ensure a safe, equitable, and inspiring environment for my students. Many of my students are learning English for the first time, so these materials will be used to make that process as painless and fun as possible. In addition, I have incoming freshmen who will benefit greatly from not only these materials, but the copies of Kindred as well. Annotating and note keeping is an excellent way of ensuring students are engaged with the reading, and that's only possible with our own copies of the book.

As a title 1 school, many students are in need of food and water, so hopefully the bottled water will help.

In addition, some of our lights don't work so the extra lighting will help students concentrate.

The hand sanitizer and other cleaning supplies will ensure the class is clean with rising COVID rates.

The chess boards are for students who have expressed interest in Chess and other games, to make sure my classroom is a fun and engaging environment.

My chair has been broken all last year and causing back problems, so the new chair will help me stay comfortable while teaching. As a title 1 school, getting funding for things like this can be extremely difficult.
