Our Title I school has around 900 students who come from diverse backgrounds. A large portion of my school's population comes from poverty-stricken homes. They are kids with hopes and dreams of making their lives better and bettering the future of their families.
All of our students receive free lunch, and most speak another language at home.
Despite their challenges, they make remarkable progress throughout the year. These students will one day change the world, and I cannot wait to see how far they go!
My Project
My students devour art and can't get enough of it, but at the same time, this teacher is in need of support for this appetite!
Art brings out my students' personalities, which is why this project is even more important.
My students need to be creative - this is a great reward! We would like to do a performance called "Welcome To Our Neighborhood". After practicing the songs and lines for the play, the students perform in a recital and showcase to show off the skills that they have learned. This grand performance takes place on our school stage, which is in need of an upgrade.
We need two play associated backdrops to make our performance really shine and give these students the confidence they need and deserve. We also need a king, queen, tiger, and mailman costumes.
The students work so hard everyday and it shows in the final recital. We now just need the stage to match the amazing talent of our students! Thank you for considering our project.
