My Project
My students come from predominantly mid- to low-income suburban families. Most of them live in homes with single parents. Many of their parents are divorced. Students frequently move. Multiple students moved out of district already this year. They are very respectful and energetic, and most love coming to school.
A few of my students are reading below grade level.
Like many students of today, they are motivated by using technology, specifically Chromebooks. I would like to obtain 4 more Chromebooks for my students to use in class to read our online Discovery Education textbook and on various research projects.
Help me give my students Chromebooks to use in our classroom when theirs are being repaired or are left at home. Students use their Chromebooks every day in my class for multiple activities. Each day they watch the CNN10 world news video, and they use their Chromebooks to read our world history content. We have an online textbook, Discovery Education.com. We do not have a physical textbook. We also do many research projects throughout the year.
Our student Chromebooks do frequently need software and hardware repairs so a few students from our team of 125 come to class daily without a Chromebook.
The donated Chromebooks will assure that students will not fall behind in their classwork.
