Mr. Lacy's Class Dojo Store

Help me give my students a fun classroom store to promote good learning habits and to foster a positive classroom environment! Items include: pencils and pens, stress balls, fidget toys, earbuds, bracelets, and more!

My Project

Help reward our middle school 6-8th grade math students with a fun Class Dojo store! Each day, students can receive points awarded on the Class Dojo website for the three core values of our school. During class, I award "Dojo points" to students who display Dignitas (respect): being kind and having self control, Gravitas (seriousness toward schoolwork): being school ready and being on task, and Pietas (loyalty to school community): participating in class and helping others.

This reward system encourages students to commit to being prepared to learn and fosters a positive classroom environment.

Students can spend their Dojo points in the class store on a daily basis to help them be prepared to learn on items like pencils, erasers, highlighters, and pens. Students are also given the weekly opportunity to shop the store on Fridays for fun items they can save up for. Fun items include a variety of fidget toys, stress balls, Croc charms, friendship bracelets, and Play-Doh. Middle school can be a stressful time for many students and I am blessed to be able to give them access to a few fun tools that can help make their experience just a little bit better.

Many of my students come from low-income families and fun items that they are able to pick out for themselves mean a lot to them. Students can budget how and when to spend the points they earn during class time by purchasing many small items or saving their points for some of the larger-value items like earbuds, hot wheels, or watches.
