My students need assorted snacks such as fruit snacks, chips, sunflower seeds and other healthy alternatives to snack on while making up credits during summer school.

Coming from some of the toughest neighborhoods in NYC, our students are often judged by the community around them. As individuals with Emotional Disturbances, our students need a therapeutic learning environment that engages them in their own personal learning style. Coming from such a diverse background, a good portion of my students heavily rely on the food they can get at school to provide them with their daily nourishment!
Eager to come to school everyday, our students often come in hungry with no means of getting breakfast and refuse to eat school breakfast.
In order to keep my students coming to school, I want to provide them with snacks they will enjoy eating that are both nutritious and tasty. When my students arrive to school on a daily basis, it is typically as breakfast is ending or they just aren't satisfied with school breakfast. Rather than creating an academic environment that isolates the students who are hungry, I want to provide all my students with snacks that will in turn provide them with a moment to have student conversations that will increase their tolerance for one another!
In order to keep my students coming to school, I want to provide them with snacks they will enjoy eating that are both nutritious and tasty. When my students arrive to school on a daily basis, it is typically as breakfast is ending, or they just aren't satisfied with school breakfast, so the Pop Tarts and various kinds of cereal being requested will serve as a basis for breakfast for my students when they arrive and are hungry.
The other snacks within this project will serve to provide supplemental nourishment to my students as they are hungry throughout the day.
