My students bring such joy to my life and I am thankful to be their teacher. We seriously have some of the best students in our small town, elementary school. I know that every school and every teacher says that, but I know just how amazing our students are.
My students are always ready to try something new, because of that, I want to be a better teacher every day.
I want to grow with them!
Our school is over sixty percent free or reduced price lunch, but together our community, parents, and staff work to get us everything we need.
I am so grateful to have wonderful people like you also partnering with us to help get our students everything they so deserve.
My Project
Every year we have an Invention Convention in third grade. Every year students use recycled materials to create a model of an invention that solves a problem. Every year students LOVE this hands on project. It pushes their creative thinking. It allows them to communicate with their families and find a problem that needs a solution. It teaches them the value of recycled materials. BUT...every year they wish their inventions came to life and worked.
This is where you come in.
Are you willing to help our classroom get enough robots so that every student can have their own robot to work with and build their invention on, or with? Students would use the recycled materials and attached to their newly coded or designed robot.
Currently we have a handful of robots that students can work with but if I want students to actually build an invention over a few weeks, we need them to have an individual robot. Want to know the best part? This project could be a rotation after three weeks, so that every third grade student could create an invention!
The Cubelet set is awesome because it has enough for 4 or 5 students to use the set. The Sphero and Dash add the circular construction to the mix. These three new sets would allow us to use all our robots and have every student have their own to code, design, and build.
We love our Invention Convention. Help me get them what they need to make the Invention Convention real. Every year we invite parents in and students showcase their work. They are the future. Can you imagine a classroom where an eight or nine year old creates an invention that could change the world? Those are my students and this is that opportunity.
