Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We teach a Mandarin Immersion Program at our Elementary School. My name is Qiyu Chen, and I am teaching the Mandarin class, and my teacher colleague Sarah Baek teaches the English class. This year is our first year working as a bilingual program team.
My Project
We are raising funds for a class printer and some ink for our Dual Mandarin Immersion classes.
These materials will make a difference in students' learning because they will finally be able to see their computer creations in color when they can print them.
This printer will allow our students to really see their work and be able to show it off in vivid color. This is also a great way to decorate my classroom with students work on our walls and make it a more welcoming room. No longer will the students' work be confined to only black and white printing.
More than half of students from low‑income households
