This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Reading with technology is becoming more and more popular. My students love to read books from my classroom library; whether they are books about math or general novels, the students love them.

My students are a very energetic group of 7th and 8th grade students who attend a 100% free and reduced lunch charter school.

The students struggle in the area of literacy; however, they always strive to meet the high expectations of our schools reading requirements.

My Project

We would like fifteen MP3 players in order to download audio books which complement our library selections. The audio books allow the students to read to which will enhance their fluency as well as general literacy skills. The MP3 players will allow the students to work quietly without disturbing others.

We have seen the success of the audio books and the MP3 players make it much easier with the compact design. Investing in literacy is a great way to invest in a students future.
