My Students
Our school supports many students with diverse backgrounds and nationalities, including an autism unit and a resource setting.
Music is vital to social and emotional development, as it helps the students to creatively express emotion.
This project is specific to grades three through six plus, the autism unit, and reaches a broad range of students throughout the school. My K-2 students will also benefit from this project.
My Project
Movement and activity are important in a quality music program. Adding tubano drumming gets students up and moving, actively engaged in making music and the physical connection to the beat of the music. Most of all, it's just plain fun.
My personal teaching philosophy is to use play to "trick" the students into learning the standards set forth in music education and integrated into CORE subjects.
Drumming provides an excellent and engaging experience for students to be active while learning about music and cultures throughout the world. Thank you in advance for supporting music education! Every little bit helps so much.
