Moving the Body With Confidence!

My students need these items to build confidence with their balance, agility, jumping technique and traveling at different levels (high, medium and low). The balance beam, agility hurdles and crawl through tunnel will build these skills.

My Students

As the physical education teacher for our small k-4 elementary school, I have the distinguished honor of working with the entire school in two-week blocks.

Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and have high social-emotional needs, but as the P.E.

teacher, I have the thrill of helping students, both mind and body, in my class gym every day.

My students are funny, smart, hardworking, and in dire need of movement. Physical Education class allows them the opportunity to get busy moving and enjoy keeping their bodies healthy and strong!

My Project

The students at our school are in need of some new Physical Education equipment! Adding this equipment into my students' PE classes will help build confidence and master skills needed to be physically active for their entire lives.

The PE equipment needed will be used in various activities throughout the school year along with being a huge part of our school's AWESOME FIELD DAY!

The balance beams will help build my fantastic students' confidence by practicing balancing and walking on the beams. These beams will be used during a regular PE class along with a super fun Field Day obstacle course. The agility hurdles are all about getting fit and practicing their jumping and leaping locomotor movement skills. A national PE standard is that elementary students will master all 8 of the locomotor movements. These hurdles will launch my students into mastery of their locomotor movements! They will be used to practicing jumping and leaping in the PE classroom throughout the entire year. Lastly, the crawling tunnel will be used to practice traveling at different levels. Students need to master traveling at high, medium and low levels. Crawling through a tunnel is working on traveling at a low level. This tunnel will be used frequently throughout the school year and will also add a fun obstacle in the Field Day obstacle course.
