My Students

Our art students come from a variety of socioeconomic, cultural, and artistic backgrounds. Some of our students come to us and have never created art. I work hard to incorporate art creation, aesthetics, art history, and art criticism into my students' lessons and make it my personal goal for these kids to enjoy walking into the art room to create! In our art room, we make connections to the core areas (math, reading, social studies, science, and writing) so students see that art connects to many parts of our lives. Our art students are always creating, doodling, drawing, sculpting, folding, carving...we are a busy classroom!

My Project

My art students know that we can make art sitting on a chair, standing, lying down, tucked into a corner, or sitting on a carpet square, but we've never experienced Hokki Stools in the art room! My students told me they love the Hokki stools in other teachers' classrooms and at the doctor's office. They asked me to request some alternative seating for the art room.

Hokki stools will help us calm the wiggles, keep us moving WHILE creating, and help us concentrate on our beautiful art!

Sometimes, we rock on the four legged chairs and stools we currently have. That's not so safe! Our class has read that Hokki Stools are safer - they have padding to help prevent slipping and are sturdy!

Our class also knows that Hokki stools can help our posture and will help us stay seated/concentrated for a longer period of time. We know 60 minutes of activity is important, and these stools will help us engage our core muscles, improve our posture and improve our balance. Help us get a starter set of these stools so we can focus on our art!
