Moving from Graphic Novels to Chapter Books

Help me give my students books that will take their reading to the next level.

My Project

So many of my students love and cherish reading graphic novels. To extend this love of reading into chapter books, the books in this project take popular graphic novel titles and pair them with chapter books within the same series. The story lines run deeper and extend the character development in these chapter book pairings.

Many of my students choose not to read chapter books in favor of faster and more visually stimulating graphic novels.

The books in this project will help reluctant chapter books readers find the familiarity and prior knowledge they need to tackle a chapter book.
