Moving Forward: Empowering Students Through Physical Therapy

Help me give my students equipment to challenge their balance and to work on their gross motor skills while also keeping them engaged. The Bosu is a dynamic piece of equipment to challenge static and dynamic balance.

My Project

As a physical therapist who is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for our students, this equipment will provide needed materials to work on and target the specific goals needed for our special education students to access and participate in their learning environment safely and efficiently. Our students are working hard to develop essential gross motor skills that will support their independence and overall physical development. I am seeking equipment that targets balance, stair ambulation, core strength, and coordination skills; key areas that are foundational for daily activities and academic participation. With tools such as Bosu, steps, bean bags, bubbles, various coordination tools, and the mirror we can provide meaningful, hands-on opportunities for our students to practice and strengthen these vital skills while also keeping them engaged. This equipment will allow us to create engaging, safe, and individualized motor activities that meet the diverse needs of our learners, and helping them grow with confidence and reach their full potential.
