Help me give my students materials for indoor and outdoor gross motor play.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Litvak's classroom raised $380

My Students
My classroom is a diverse, inclusive classroom of low-income students aged 3 to 5. For most of my students, this is their first learning experience. All of our students receive complimentary breakfast and lunch at school. We are located in the inner city of Pittsburgh and provide a free comprehensive program that is designed to nurture and support each child as we prepare them to transition to kindergarten.
My students are very interested in learning about letters, math, social studies, engineering, and science, and they enjoy exploring technology.
They are dreamers, thinkers, and questioners and love to discover new things about the world around them. Despite their challenges, they come to school each day ready to work and play with smiles and positive attitudes.
My Project
Gross motor development involves the larger, stronger muscle groups of the body. We address these skills by playing outside in the playground. However, as the cold weather approaches, we need gross-motor equipment and resources that are appropriately challenging for all our children to continue developing these necessary skills for everyday activities, such as getting dressed and walking to school. Especially after being home during the pandemic, the students need to continue working on these gross motor skills so they can control how they use their bodies.
Developing your gross motor skills is so important for healthy development of a child and our students REALLY need these materials!
These materials will support gross motor development, fine motor development, social emotional growth, and preschool learning objectives. All of the materials are inclusive of any ability. Having materials such as a trampoline and basketball hoop will support physical and cognitive development from ages 3-4. My students will benefit from having these sensory materials that will allow them to have "brain breaks" and or indoor movement support. Student will learn how to take turns, using language to say wants and needs and labeling actions to movements.
