With our county's new wellness policy as our focus, the staff in my school want the students to become/remain physically fit. In addition to gym and outdoor time for movement, we feel the need to add and indoor component. We have researched and read reviews on Exercise, DVD and Videos We found a good selection that make exercise fun and interesting with good reviews. Using this resource will be an excellent method of exercise on days we are unable to take children outside. The benefits include: healthier body, promoting fitness at school that will carry over into the home, resources for teachers to use with children. I am the Library Media Specialist and I teach grades Pre K - 8th grade. Along with teaching classes, it is my job to locate and purchase resources that enhance the curriculum such as health. My school consists of about 220 students in grades Pre-K through eight. The school is located in a rural area in the mountains. I need videos and DVD's for this project where 220 students will participate. Teachers currently have ready access to video and DVD players in the classrooms. I want my students to have this experience because being fit is not only good physically but enhances their education and make them feel good about themselves.
