This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"If you can dream it, you can do it." In the words of Walt Disney, being creative allows us to dream big and learn easily! My students will use this tool to create their own videos illustrating important principles and processes of Biology.

My students are highly motivated and culturally diverse.

Although more than 85% of the students benefit from the federal free and reduced lunch program, they are determined to graduate and attend college in order to create a better life for their future. Our school is a large urban public high school (2,400 students)located in California.

My Project

My students will be assigned an important principle or process in Biology and then using their amazing creativity, they will work in teams of 4 students to create an educational video that will entertain and teach their classmates! The students will combine their knowledge of biology with the techniques of visual arts to write, direct, act in, and edit their own videos.

It is well known in education that if you can teach something to someone else, especially in a novel way, you will be better able to recall the information.

This tool will allow my students to assimilate information more easily while utilizing their creative skills.
