Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Having the leaders in our community in my classroom is such an inspiring feeling! My fifth grade students are selfless, caring, active and creative. Most of my students come from Latin America and have immigrated to the United States: most coming with just the clothes on their back and their family. My students are always striving to do their best, help others, and succeed in their dreams. These students are active and love to move, but they also love to learn. Their dedication and hard work not only inspires me, but also their classmates.

My Project

Being able to incorporate wobble cushions, balance balls, chart paper and privacy screens into my classroom will allow my fifth graders to be able to create in their best environment. Each student has different preferences just like adults. Having these options in my classroom will not only allow students to have choice in our room, but will also encourage and inspire my students to create in a comfortable environment. This fifth grade class is not only our future but they are also the current leaders in our community, they deserve to have and engaging, comfortable and safe work space while in our school.
