This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students span the elementary school grades, come from diverse backgrounds, speak many different home languages, and some have been identified with mild to moderate special needs. My students aren't your typical learners; they are learning in mainstream Spanish Dual-Language classrooms with their typically developing peers.
These bouncy bands, cube chairs, and other tools allow them to gain extra sensory input while seated, which enables them to focus on what is occurring in their classrooms.
Without these tools, my students often resort to moving around the room to meet their sensory needs, which disrupts the learning of their classmates.
