Movement & Middle School Mentoring!

My students need adjustable laptop stands to allow for more movement in the classroom. My students also need snacks to share with the younger students during their weekly middle school mentoring groups.

My Students

I teach awesome students! They are uniquely wonderful. They are bright, funny, curious, talkative, shy, athletic, brave, optimistic and charming! They have a zest for life and learning. Even when faced with difficult circumstances they maintain positive attitudes and are eager to learn.

Their positive outlook and hope for the future inspire me to continually strive to do better, in the classroom and in life!

I can't wait to see the paths their young lives take and how far they travel.

My Project

The portable, adjustable laptop stands will allow my students to stand and move as they work without hunching over and causing back strain. The laptop stands can be used for computer work and/or small group centers. Perhaps more importantly, the laptop stands will be used as the students plan activities for their weekly meetings with the younger students.

Our middle school Beta members have started a weekly mentoring program tailored to enrich the lives of younger students.

They pair up with kindergarten and first grade students and spend one-on-one time bonding and enriching the lives of the younger students. Along with the walks, talks and activity time, the students would also like to provide snacks for the younger students during this mentoring time. The pretzels, cookies and variety snacks would be used for this purpose. As we are a small rural community, these relationships will likely last a lifetime and have the potential to make a huge difference in the lives of all involved.
