This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from large, urban and rural communities. We are a Title I school in a low-income community. This school year I have 28 students in an uncertain learning world. Many of these students are adjusting back to the face-to-face environment with deficits in their learning.

My students are creative, clever, and excited to learn, regardless of what this school year may bring.

Due to the current situation, we will need resources to help the students to learn in a different way than they are used to. My students usually vary with gifted, ESE, ESOL, and other challenges. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in learning virtually as well as in person.

My Project

I have been using Bouncy Bands on the desks in my classroom for years. Students tell me the extra movement has helped them to focus in class. Many of these bands are now old and many have broken. The bands need replacing. There are four desks that regular bands would not fit on. I would like to get some bands for the chairs at those tables as well.

Students must transition from in-person to online and back to in-person again due to the current pandemic.

I need a mobile stand for the laptop that I use for zoom so that when I dual teach I am able to see and hear the students that are online while working with the students who are in person.

Students need to get better organized. My students need an accordion-style folder to keep the papers in their desks better organized. With your help, this difficult school year could be made a little easier to adjust to.
