My Students

I am a teacher in a public school, where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are creative, clever, and want to achieve their dreams.

They bring an energy and desire that makes teaching a reward. We are always talking about how they want to make a difference. We talk and share examples of how we can be the change that we want to see in the world.

My Project

We are requesting UNICEF power bands which will help my students increase their knowledge about other countries and customs as they complete the power-up lessons each week. These bands will track their steps and convert them to power points when they sync with the UNICEF Power Band Website. Power points are tracked and converted into food packs that UNICEF will donate. They will learn that they as middle school students can make a difference and gain knowledge about how technology can be used to help people. This program motivates kids to be more active and feel like they can do something to make a difference in middle school.
