My Students

Our students come from a very small school with rural roots and a close-knit community. As teachers, we have been so proud to see them pull together and be flexible following major hurricanes hitting the area, Covid-19 shutdown/virtual learning, and even a train derailment near the campus. Through all of these interruptions, our students continue to make the best of the school day and keep their focus.

My students have stepped up to help their friends, family, and town recover from the flooding that major storms brought to our area the past few years; now, we ask for the chance to give back to them in order to continue making this a great year!

My Project

Many of my students like to move their feet while they work. It helps them focus on the lesson and pay attention. These busy bands that attach to the desks give the students a way to move their feet quietly while staying seated while they work. This minimizes distractions and improves concentration. I currently have 2 of these for my classroom and the students beg to sit in those 2 desks. By adding busy bands to every desk in my room, all students will have the option to utilize this tool.
