My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. We are a very diverse school and take great pride in that. All of my students have a unique learning style and different life experiences.
I always strive to celebrate diversity and meet the needs of all students in the classroom.
Many of our students qualify for free and reduced priced lunch, have situational hardships, or come from low-income areas. While I can not control their life experiences outside of the classroom. I know what we do in school makes a difference in our community and in the lives of my students.
Students have entered my school through a lottery system. They are drawn from all over the city. The school has received a great deal of support, but many useful items did not fit in the budget. The kids are great and many have overcome huge hurdles to come to this school.
My students will benefit from wobble stools by allowing my most active learners to move, wobble, and wiggle; while still paying attention and completing their work. Since the stools are light weight, students will also be able to move them to their best learning location.
In our class we collaborate to add value to our learning.
My students will also benefit from lap trays because they will be able to create more teamwork areas. Individuals, partners, and small groups will be able to move around the room and work on projects. The lap trays will provide a more stable, clean, safe location for student work. Using the wobble stools and lap trays will allow tudents will have ownership over their learning location.
