This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students would greatly benefit from having the physical education equipment. The equipment will provide the students the opportunity to improve their fine motor skills, strengthen their core, and develop their stamina.

I have a classroom full of energetic fifth graders who are eager to learn and enjoy using different types of materials for their learning.

We are part of a large metropolitan school district. My class is ethnically diverse. Our school has a large population of students who have various disabilities.

My Project

As a fifth grade teacher, I must help prepare my students for the Fitnessgram each year. One way to help my students improve their physical skills is through the use of a variety of equipment. This equipment will help build the instructional program I am trying to create for my students. Throwing and catching balls will help develop upper body control which they will be able to use for pushups and sit-ups. The hula hoops will help develop their core which will help for the sit and reach segment of the assessment. Most importantly, students will have fun while developing these skills.
