Move, Learn, Succeed: Standing Desks for My ESL Classroom

My Project

My goal is to create a more engaging and student-centered learning environment by providing each of my English Language Learners with a standing desk. Many of my students benefit from movement and flexibility throughout the school day, especially as they work to develop their English language skills. Traditional desks often limit their ability to stay focused, alert, and involved in classroom activities.

Standing desks offer students the freedom to move, stretch, and adjust their posture without disrupting learning.

For ESL students, who are already working hard to follow directions, participate in discussions, and build confidence in a new language, this added flexibility can make a big difference in their academic success and overall well-being.

By equipping every student with a standing desk, I hope to create a classroom where all learners—regardless of their English proficiency—feel empowered, comfortable, and ready to engage. These desks will support focus, collaboration, and a sense of ownership over their learning. Your support will help me remove barriers and build a classroom that meets the diverse needs of all my students.
