Our school day starts off with morning announcements. Usually a student who is "principal of the day" will help make announcements and we will then sing the school song that was written by the third grade class and goes along with our theme "Lights, Camera, Action!"
My students are 5 and 6 years old.
We are a building with kindergarten to fifth grade. A majority of our students come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Our school provides free/reduced breakfast and lunch each day for every student. We are a building that works together and we strive to better our students.
My Project
We will be having a move it outside day/field day. This will be a wrap up to the end of the year and will be reward for the improvements and progress each student has made. We will be spending the day outdoors. We want our students to work in teams and have fun while they are moving and exercising. These items will be used as various stations and activities for the students to complete. We will split the school into two teams (School colors - yellow and blue)
We will use the bean bag toss, the mini basketball net, scooters and other items as stations for the students to compete. These items will also be used during gym class. This will be our second year doing Move it Outside Day and we hope to continue having the event each year. We will also use the items through out the year during gym class. This is a fun day for students learn teamwork! Our goal is for students to get outside and move!
These items will be used over and over again each year and also during gym class.
Having these items will make a huge difference for our students and it will make the day even better than last year. Many of our students have trouble working together in teams and this day will provide students with the opportunity to work with one another. These items will also help with gym class since we currently have minimal gym equipment.
