Help me give my students flexible seating options like wobble chairs, floor desks, reclining seats, and a balance ball chair for active and engaged 21st century learning.
From the time the school bell tolls, we are ready to learn, grow and have a lot of fun along the way. We are a community of learners with diverse needs and it is my responsibility to meet my students from where they are and structure each day for success. The sky's the limit if you're willing to soar!
Full of energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, my first graders show what it takes to be responsible learners both in and out of our classroom.
Nestled in a family friendly neighborhood, our school is a small village that holds both student expectations and family involvement in high regard. We strive to empower our learners to reach their full potential while developing a better sense of responsibility for their own learning. We are developing lifelong learners each and every day. We care, we share, and we are aware of others and our impacts on them by the choices that we make. We have fun while learning because, learning should be fun! Each day is a new adventure filled with infinite possibilities for learning and growing and my students are always up for what the day will bring.
My Project
My learners need to move and groove as they learn and flexible seating will help meet their diverse learning needs. Do you prefer to sit, stand, kneel, or lie down while you work? Guess what? Kids do too!
From stability balls, to floor desks and wobble seats, my students would maximize their learning with flexible seating options to allow them to move, groove, and learn!
Active kids need active, engaging learning environments and I would love to provide them with these flexible seating options.
I am requesting floor desks so they can sit comfortably on the rug while still having the ability to work at a desk during whole and small group lessons. The wobble seats will be utilized at our guided reading and independent work tables to assist my students with learning differences who have a great need to move as a means to help them activate their learning. The stability ball chair will be presented as a class privilege for the students who are demonstrating respect and good work habits throughout our school day. The reclining stadium seats will be placed around the classroom to allow students to sit on the rug while still helping them maintain some physical boundaries by utilizing these chairs for whole and small group activities.
My little learners have been stuck in old school desks and chairs for over 20 years and it's time to bring them into the 21st century with flexible seating options.
