My Students
Remember what it was to be in First Grade? A typical day in my classroom is busy, busy, busy! My students are active and enjoy exploring. Their young minds need tools and meaningful experiences. We are a Title I school with a very high percentage of low income families. While poverty and language can be barriers for my students, I like to create a learning environment that makes their learning fun.
As their teacher, I want the best for my students in and out of the classroom.
I must create an environment where my students have endless opportunities.
My Project
Physical education and outdoor play is an essential part of first grade. Our school provides 3 long jump ropes, 5 short jump ropes, 2 balls, and 10 hula hoops.
I want my students to improve team work, learn to socialize, and build muscles while exercising to become healthier.
My students need equipment to be active and learn. In addition to promoting cooperative group play, the parachute can stimulate imagination. There are many games we can play with a parachute. The bean bags will provide opportunities for students to warm up and allow them to work together while exercising. With the soccer balls and cones, students will demonstrate their manipulative skills while they dribble a ball in a forward direction, using the inside of the foot.
