Mouthpieces Make Music Happen

My students need new instrument mouthpieces to start the new school year.

My Students

Each year as a group of students are promoted from our school, the incoming class receives instruments to begin their journey through Music education. With each grade level returning, we need new mouthpieces for the students to play their instruments with.

Our school is unique in the fact that when students enter the program, they sign a contract, and are required to come to school from 7:25 am until 5:00 pm in and on select Saturdays.

It is also unique in the fact that all the students in the school are required to take Instrumental Music and are in the band program. Our school is one of the only schools in our region where all the students are in band. This makes finding the resources to meet all the needs of the program challenging, but not impossible.

My Project

Over the last few years we have been able to acquire instruments for approximately 70% of our student population, however, that means that we have two grade levels that have to share instruments. In order to accomplish this, we have to purchase new mouthpieces for each new student. These funds will make it possible to provide mouthpieces for our incoming students.

In public schools the funding for Music education is continuously being cut, now more than ever we need support to bring a quality Music education to students and give them the mouthpiece to make their music heard.
