Help me give my students the opportunity to learn about mechanical engineering and solving problems.

My Project
My goal is to have my teams redesign their mousetrap cars to go faster and longer. In order to complete this challenge, students must know the science of simple machines and mechanical advantages. They will work in teams of three to design, build and test prototypes vehicles to make the car go faster and farther than before and only powered only by a mousetrap. Through generous donation student have already create their cars. Now they must step up to two more challenges. For this challenge students need wheels of different sizes to achieve the correct amount of mechanical advantage. Our shopping list consist of wheels and axles to make the cars go faster and father. Please help.
The creative process of turning 'ideas' into real projects empowers students who have felt like trapped passengers on a solemn pandemic bus ride; turning ideas into projects helps students practice the role of being active agents in changing the world rather than passive observers.
Students will use these tools for projects ranging from prototyping inventions to building sustainability structures, to designing alternative energy experiments, to creating interactive robots.
All of our projects serve the bigger picture of students learning stages project management, carrying ideas from the abstract into reality and evaluate their real-world results.
It is right to say these tools will serve the community through the
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
