My students need Magnatiles to move, build and engage during recess, intertwining math and science skills and concepts as they socialize and problem solve with their peers.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Weir's classroom raised $223

My Students
I teach 47 eager-to-learn third-grade students in a low socioeconomic school. I team teach with another third-grade teacher. I teach math to two classes, in addition to all other subjects (excluding reading) to my homeroom. More than half of my class receives free lunch.
My students show up every day excited to be at school and ready to learn.
Unfortunately, many of them do not have traditional learning materials at home that foster learning through hands-on learning experiences. I need your help updating the materials in my classroom. Due to economic strains, our classrooms are suffering. Without your help, it is impossible for me to purchase these things.
My Project
While learning about geometry, I will have the students use these Magna-Tiles to actually make shapes and make three dimensional free standing objects using the shapes and quadrilaterals we have been studying. This will give them real life experience using these shapes and allow them to use their imagination while learning.
These Magna-Tiles will make a difference in their math lives and learning as well as their social lives.
These kids are little sponges when it comes to learning and by adding these kinds of projects to their day, they will learn more and have fun while doing it. Thank you for your support!
