Motor Into Learning

My Project

My students are in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade in a diverse, urban community. Currently I have 7 students: 2 boys and 5 girls. They have significant special needs, so traditional elementary school materials aren't often appropriate nor engaging. Three of my students are non-verbal and use AAC devices to communicate, one is blind, two are hearing impaired, and all have motor and communication disabilities. These particular items are sturdy (wooden or thickly laminated/plastic). They will allow my students alternative ways to engage with learning letters/numerals, community helpers, animals, part-whole and whole-part relationships, and visual-spatial concepts. My goal for this project is to enable all of my students to access learning content in a motivating way.
