Motivators for Middle Schoolers

My Students

More than half of my students come from low income homes. Many of them are on free or reduced price lunch, learning English, and are transient due to their family needs. I am blessed with the job of teaching our English Language Learners and Special Education students, who all come to school hungry to learn and receive the tools necessary for creating a comfortable life for them and their families. I want each of my students to know that their voice matters, they have a contribution to make, and we will have the resources to get them there.

My Project

These items will be used to help me meet the needs of my individual students. Many of my students come to school hungry so the snacks will be given to them to meet their needs. Some of my students have sensory issues or trouble focusing, so the prizes are catered to help them adapt to a classroom setting. A few of my students need a little extrinsic motivation, which prizes and games can provide.

While we continue to adapt to this pandemic, help me motivate my students to show up, for themselves and others, through these simple, but fun motivators.
