My Project
Thank you for considering funding my project. I am a 6th grade math teacher, working in a school district where almost all students are from low-income households.
I strongly believe that motivation is the key to success, and a positive attitude can be developed toward math with motivation.
Motivating students on regular basis with small incentives like pencils, erasers, highlighters, stress balls, emoji keychains, fidget bracelets, stickers, and stamps for completing the classwork/homework, participating in discussions, showing their work, and trying their best will give them needed confidence to be successful in life regardless of their socioeconomic status. Motivation has a strong impact on student learning and achievement. Students who are motivated to learn to persist longer, produce higher quality effort, and perform better in classes. I also requested some magnetic folders to use as student cubbies, and a student work turn in station.
