My Students
My students come from lower income families, yet they have big dreams and want to achieve great things. They are highly motivated by hands-on curriculum, project-based learning, and inquiry labs. My students participate in STEM competitions, science fairs, and the LEGO robotics club.
These middle school students are naturally inquisitive about how the world works and work hard to find solutions to problems.
To sustain their interest and motivation, I would like to offer students different STEM-related educational challenges .
My Project
My students are highly motivated for short periods of time, but need to develop the stamina to delve deeper and complete learning objectives. At times, it seems that some students' negative behavior receives most of the attention. I want to change this dynamic so that positive behavior becomes the main focus.
STEM-related projects (such as mousetrap cars, bottle rockets, chemical reactions, and much more) will inspire students to strive for success and will give them an additional opportunity to engage with science, engineering, math, and technology materials in a fun way.
Research has shown that engaging projects increase student motivation for academic success. these STEM-related projects will serve to ignite curiosity and enhance their knowledge in the curriculum and interest in science.
