Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in second grade. All of my students are diverse learners, which means they have special needs. My students have significant developmental delays including severe learning disabilities, autism or other social-emotional difficulties. I teach all subjects including reading, social studies, math, science, as well as life skills. My kids are from a working-class, low-income area. We are a very nice school with wonderful students and very dedicated teachers. As with most schools our budget is limited. My students are in a classroom of their peers with my support.

My students need exposure to everything their same age peer are seeing.

My Project

For this project I am asking for snack for my students to have at school after we return from this virus chaos. I am requesting large numbers of items because there are forty second graders in our class. These will serve as motivators after their extended stay at home. Many of my students have the free-lunch program and would greatly benefit from the extra food at a time I think many families will be suffering.

It is amazing how much happier a child who is not "Hangry" can be.

I hope you want to help me to help my students concur those late afternoon hunger.
