My Project
I teach 11th-grade English. This project will focus on four areas that my students would benefit from.
This project focuses on several areas that will help my students succeed through the rest of the school year.
1. My students are working on a Satire unit that will end with a "Shark Tank" project where students can win prizes for their presentations. Part of this project will fund some classroom rewards to help incentivize and reward their efforts for creating thoughtful projects.
2. I am supporting my students with self-regulation and learning the importance of advocating for themselves when they need. The pops and play dough will help me create a calm area with fidgets for them to take a break if needed.
3. I have included a laminator to help me organize and post student examples, class notes and word walls up on our bulletin boards. We recently created a class self-assessment word wall that included the class "comfort level" next to each word with a thumbs up or down - being able to laminate this would enhance student learning but also allow me to make our boards look nice and last longer.
4. I have also included some general supplies that would help my students organize themselves as they finish the home stretch for the school year - journals, pens and folders.
