My Students

Do you remember how tough it was to be a middle school student? So much peer pressure! Constantly worrying about the way you looked, how your voice sounded, and how to fit in? Our colorguard helps middle school girls and boys build self-confidence and improve their self-esteem.

Our colorguard represents a public middle school in a high poverty area whose students achieve at all academic levels.

Last year was the colorguard's first competitive year and we placed third in our division at the state competition. Not only were our team members proud of their accomplishments, other members of the school community expressed their desire to join our team this year.

My Project

Performing regularly and improving their performance each time builds confidence and self-esteem at an amazing rate! Team members want to develop the skill sets required with multiple pieces of equipment so that they may shine in the spotlight during performances. We need the extra rifles, so that each member has the opportunity to experience that shining moment.

Colorguard gives these students a place to belong, and an opportunity to be a part of a winning team.

That feeling, and those skills, transfer into the classroom where members continue to excel! Earning good grades and being an upstanding member of the school community is required in order to remain on the team. These students work hard everyday in order to meet those requirements. Please help us make it possible for more students to join our team and have their moment in the spotlight!
