My Project

This project will target students who have attendance, academic, and/or behavior concerns. In speaking with the students, they themselves identified snacks/foods as great incentives. In general, students often come to school hungry and will ask for snacks/food on a daily basis. Having snacks readily available will allow the students to focus more in the classroom.

Over 50% of our student population receive free or reduced-price lunch, but for whatever reason, the students do not eat the school lunch.

When directed to bring snacks from home, they usually reply that they have none. Additionally, many households have parents that leave early for work or may have multiple jobs which means our students’ first meal of the day will be dinner.
