Motivating Mathematicians on Their Mathematical Journey

Help me give my students a math game, penguin plushies, and a penguin motion toy to motivate and celebrate progress on their journey as mathematicians.

My Project

Motivation matters! My fourth graders set out on the ST Math Journey at the start of the year. They work to pace themselves and stay on track to reach the finish line by the end of fourth grade. We're on track but I'm realizing that as we near the midpoint of the year my fourth graders could use a little motivation to celebrate the progress made thus far. The ST Math mascot is JiJi, a penguin on a journey through the world of ST Math. My mathematicians help JiJi overcome obstacles by solving math puzzles and they share the experience with JiJi as they encounter challenges as well as success.

The penguin plushies and motion toys will be incredible incentives to motivate my mathematicians to reach the next milestone on ST Math which encourages my learners to be curious, persistent, and patient on their mathematical journey.

Our mathematical journey will get the boost it needs with these incentives and the 24 GAME of Factors and Multiples to kick off the New Year refreshed and rejuvenated as my learners continue helping JiJi the penguin on the journey through fourth grade math and meeting milestones along the way!
